Position Overview:
As the Driver Manager/Dispatcher at Green Mile Logistics, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our driver fleet.
You will be responsible for managing driver schedules, coordinating delivery routes, and providing exceptional support to our drivers.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to maintaining high service standards.
Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate the daily activities of our driver fleet, ensuring on-time deliveries and customer satisfaction.
Efficiently plan and assign delivery routes to drivers, optimizing efficiency and minimizing fuel consumption.
Monitor driver schedules, attendance, and performance, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, providing guidance, support, and addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
Track and update the status of deliveries, ensuring real-time visibility and effective communication with customers.
Collaborate with the operations team to ensure timely pickups, deliveries, and resolve any potential issues.
Maintain accurate records of driver hours, mileage, and fuel usage for reporting and compliance purposes.
Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure driver and public safety.
Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices related to driver management and dispatch operations.
Proactively identify areas for improvement in driver performance, route optimization, and overall operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics or transportation is a plus.
Proven experience in dispatching or driver management within the transportation industry.
Strong knowledge of routing software and GPS systems.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in using transportation management systems (TMS) or similar software is preferred.
A commitment to promoting sustainable practices and reducing carbon emissions.
