Chemist/Lab Technician needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in La Porte, TX
The Big Picture:
With guidance from supervision, the primary responsibility of the Chemist is to assist technical personnel in general laboratory operations and routine laboratory or information handling tasks in support of scientific research. The Chemist will perform tasks according to accepted methods and training prescribed by the work group.
What You'll Be Doing:
- The primary responsibilities of this individual will be to provide analytical support to the program, in order to characterize streams coming out of the various unit operations.
- Responsible for carrying out existing analytical methods.
- Maintaining analytical equipment (including HPLC, GC, IC, Densitometers and automatic titrators) and performing calibrations will also be required.
What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- BS in Chemistry
- Minimum of 2 years of pharmaceutical/biotech industrial experience
- Strong working knowledge of GMP regulations.
- This position requires rotating shift work - work 4 nights (F-M), 3 days (F-S), 3 nights (T-Th) & 4 days (M-Th). And then start all over again. One plus to this schedule is that after they work their 4 days they have 7 days off.
