HSE Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and communicate corporate HSE and Compliance responsibilities between the divisional compliance and safety resources
  • Represent ALS when dealing with US Health, Safety and Environment governmental regulatory entities as needed
  • Assess, interpret and implement all requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Association regulations in all ALS locations within the region (OSHA)
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental regulatory needs
  • Enforce safety standards within the region
  • Organize and implement training sessions
  • Monitor and support all claims within the region including rehabilitation and claims management with the guidance of the North American Injury Manager
  • Develop programs to reduce the frequency, severity and cost of any workplace injuries
  • Implement current and future HSE policies and programs throughout the region
  • Manage and maintain regional monitoring programs to include air testing, personal testing, environmental testing
  • Participate in or lead regional HSE audits
  • Review and report on regional HSE performance monthly
  • Participate as a member of the North American team to develop and support corporate initiatives and programs

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Health and Safety
  • HSE certificate or equivalent desired

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Maintains a level of knowledge on health, safety and environment standards for Texas, the United States, and any other areas of the law pertaining to health and safety
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of company philosophies, policies, procedures, programs and initiatives
  • Strong organizational skills and follow-through on commitments and deadlines
  • Must convey a positive and professional image at all times
  • Ability to speak in public and present information to groups
  • Possesses tact, communication skills, ability to work effectively with fellow team members, agencies and government
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required
  • Demonstrated judgement, creativity, integrity and ability to problem solve
  • Ability to effectively handle escalations and time critical issues
  • Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
