RELOCATION/RECRUITMENT INCENTIVE:
RELOCATION INCENTIVE OF UP TO $5,000.00 OF SALARY MAY BE OFFERED TO SELECTEE OF THIS POSITION. SELECTEE MUST SIGN THREE (3) YEAR PERIOD OF SERVICE (POS) AGREEMENT BEFORE ASSIGNMENT TO THE NEW POSITION. EMPLOYEE MUST AGREE TO COMPLETE THE 3 YEAR PERIOD OF SERVICE IN NEW POSITION. EMPLOYEE MUST PHYSICALLY RELOCATE TO THE NEW DUTY STATION BEFORE THE RELOCATION INCENTIVE WILL BE PAID. IF EMPLOYEE WISHES TO TERMINATE THEIR POS AGREEMENT RECOUPMENT PROCEDURES WILL BE INITIATED. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes:
1) Assist in utilizing and operating Global Positioning Systems (GPS); OR, 2) Assisting in compiling data gathered from surveys and entering data into an electronic system. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR, Education:
Four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree (a) with a major study in engineering, construction, or industrial technology); or (b) that included at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses such as drafting, surveying, mathematics, physical science, industrial technology, industrial arts, or technical subjects pertinent to construction; or engineering technician work such as electricity, material testing, or engineering mechanics; OR, Combination of Education and
Experience:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. GS-06 Specialized
Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes:
1) Assist in completing topographic surveys; OR, 2) Assist in utilizing and operating survey grade Global Positioning Systems (GPS). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR, Education:
A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field of study, such as engineering, construction, or industrial technology); or directly related to the work of this position; OR Combination of Education and
Experience:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. GS-07 Specialized
Experience:
One year of specialized experience in using, adapting and adjusting equipment for survey operations, inspecting and testing equipment and materials for acquisition of engineering, scientific, environmental, topographic geodetic, oceanographic and hydrographic data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR,Education:
One full year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of this position, such as engineering, construction, or industrial technology); or directly related to the work of this position; OR, Combination of Education and
Experience:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
